Creating a finance community
By Michael Wutzke, , updated
In January 2025 I launched a finance community for emerging technologies: Finance Loop. The idea had been growing for years. In 2022, together with three colleagues from Frankfurt, I started a series of events on blockchain and decentralized finance. The turnout at the first four events surprised us as organizers, and it surprised the financial sector that was watching.
Hundreds of people came regularly, and it became clear that occasional meetups were too little. Professionals from banking, blockchain and regulation were looking for each other and did not always know where to find the right partner. A more structured setting was needed.
Over the past months I have supported the creation of a broader on-chain finance ecosystem that brings these market participants together. Finance Loop is the result. Its mission is to connect traditional finance, blockchains and regulatory stakeholders in a continuous exchange. The topics are decentralized finance, custody, tokenization, market data, oracles, exchanges and stablecoins.
As of November 2025 the community has more than 3,000 members, and around 15 events took place in 2025. None of this would be possible without the people who give their time, their knowledge and their networks. Thank you to everyone involved.
