Hey, I am Michael.
I am an IT expert and AI solutions engineer in Frankfurt with more than twenty years in digital projects, in leadership and in hands-on roles. Today I support companies and decision makers in finance with practical execution, strategic sparring and my network across IT, product development and business development. A focus of my work is new technology in finance and business: blockchains, digital assets and AI.
I have seen a wide range of business models and industries. My early work was mostly B2B, with some years in B2C, and today I work in B2B again. I have built many digital projects with my own hands, so I know which solutions work and which do not. My goal in every project is to move it forward and to make decisions clear.
I work with Claude and ChatGPT every day for many hours, and I have taught at the Claude Hacker House since June 2026. There I also work on MCP servers, autonomous agents and virtual companies.
I take on engagements as an external consultant, interim manager or freelancer, part-time or full-time, and I am open to a permanent role.

I advise companies in finance
At Gateflow I advise companies on digital assets, blockchains and AI, and I build what comes out of the advice: websites, API architectures, automated workflows and prototypes. Since December 2024.

I help build an information platform with AI agents
Since April 2026 I have helped build a client's information platform with AI agents that work under the same rules as a human. Every fact in it carries its source and its date.

Since June 2026 I teach practical work with Claude at the Claude Hacker House in Frankfurt: prompting, AI-assisted workflows, MCP servers and virtual organizations.

I co-founded Finance Loop, a community for emerging technologies in finance with over 4,000 members in July 2026. Since January 2026 I write about digital assets for Business Punk.
What I founded
I am good at ...
I find the right solution for a given audience, and I give reasons for every option I propose. I write concepts myself, and I judge and implement the concepts of others. I learned what makes a product successful by applying strategic concepts to web projects and in trainings on website optimization, and I learned IT project management early by coordinating teams of developers. When someone presents a concept to me, I can tell how well it will be understood.
I have run a company of fifty people and I have written code alone for five months straight. That is why I can explain complicated issues in a simple way, to a board and to a developer. In short: know-why and know-how.
If team members are not motivated, the likelihood of delay increases.
A goal without a concept and a lack of measurable metrics is just an idea.

Trainings and certifications
In the last years I attended many trainings in technology, management and communication, and some of these trainings led to an official certification. I learn whenever I have time. That is why I travel by train: the hours on board belong to a course, mostly a video training.
I am certified by Amazon Web Services as Solutions Architect Associate and Cloud Practitioner for the services of the AWS cloud, by Google for Analytics and Mobile Sites, and by Scrum.org as Professional Scrum Master. I am a Certified Bitcoin Professional and a Certified DeFi Expert. I hold the trainer license of the Frankfurt chamber of commerce for IT apprenticeships. From time to time I attend technology meetups in Frankfurt, above all the DeFi meetup.
Motivated and in a good mood
I love my fields of knowledge, and I am grateful for every day I can work on ideas. I am used to working with many kinds of people, young and old. I am active and emotional, and I think strategically. My positive attitude motivates the people who work with me.
Good employees in a company do not need a manager, they need orientation and support.
Blockchains and DLTs
I have dealt with cryptocurrencies and blockchains since 2015, and I follow the development of distributed ledger technologies. I have run my own Bitcoin miners and a Bitcoin full node. In my opinion, blockchains driven by smart contracts can become the largest trend since the smartphone, first in finance, insurance and real estate. I have a faible for blockchains and cryptocurrencies.
A project is doomed to underperform or fail if its management is bad.
Investor and advisor
Next to IT I am active as a business angel, consultant and investor. I am a member of the Digital Euro Association, a think tank on central bank digital currencies, stablecoins and crypto assets. I organize meetups on digital assets, and I contribute to the adoption of digital token identifiers. Details: Publications, press and committees.
Attending crypto conferences
Between 2021 and 2025 I went to more than 200 business events, from international conferences to local meetups. I met exciting personalities such as Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano, business people and Web3 enthusiasts. I like to connect with people and to exchange ideas about decentralized finance.
