Creating products
Helping to succeed
Someone has to come up with a proposal, a concept, or a plan. Whether a company has been in business for decades or you are working on a new idea: never before in history has the market been driven by such short innovation cycles. The way we use or buy products is changing faster, and so are the demands users place on technology and on having their wishes fulfilled.
Over the last 20 years, I have been a sparring partner for colleagues from a number of different departments. I am driven by the belief that IT can help make things better. As a consulting developer, I offer practical experience gained over many years of working for top German e-commerce brands such as REWE and Lidl.
I have also worked in the startup world for more than 15 years. Today, I use my knowledge to create applications that are useful and solve problems people have. If necessary, I create concepts and technical pipelines to make digital solutions work (better). But I am also experienced in challenging other people’s concepts and plans and in giving reasons for my opinions.
From strategy to design
Once the concept and the roadmap for the application are clear, we can proceed to the actual implementation. A web developer like me usually does far more than plain coding: the goal is to create a highly useful product.

How I can help
Roadmaps
Ensure that the technology matches the planned development steps of the product.
Flows and processes
Design and implement IT-driven business processes that meet specific goals.
Documentation
Describe what is needed or useful so that others can easily follow and understand it.
Legal support
Write the technical parts of legal documents on how to handle data, processes, and contracts.
Presentations
Communicate the planned or completed steps in order to achieve a successful product.
Coordination
Work together with colleagues, decision makers, business partners and external companies.
Creating information architecture
An important factor in the success of a project is the way a website or app is structured and how its content is organized. The goal is to help users find information and complete tasks. This is where information architecture comes in. It is the creation of a structure for a website, application, or other project that allows us as users to understand where we are and where the information we want is in relation to our position. The results of work in the field of technical guidance are metadata, site maps, hierarchies, categorizations, navigation, and more. When a content strategist begins separating content and dividing it into categories, they are also practicing information architecture. And when a designer sketches a top-level menu to help users understand where they are on a site, they are doing the same.
I can provide product and technical advice thanks to my qualifications and experience in the B2B and B2C fields:
Reducing complexity
I have experience in documenting complex properties and processes. This includes work for websites, mobile apps, products, APIs, and other system services.
Being passionate
I am a confident and motivated self-starter who can assess information from a variety of people and sources. For anything I propose, I can give the reasons why I chose that option.
Loving to communicate
I am used to communicating with a wide range of people, in both German and English. I can propose workflows, write documentation, and find discrepancies, cracks, etc. in any given implementation of a product or service.
Being open-minded
To achieve the best results, people who work in strategy need to be creative, curious and interested in people and in the ideas their co-workers have. Otherwise, the openness to other people’s suggestions is missing.
Analytical strengths
For the best results in designing a product or service, I can provide analytical strength. I am proficient with workflow tools and with ways to define and track KPIs, and I visualize proposals using tools like Visio.
Creating information architecture and giving technical advice is a wide field. In the past, my work in this field focused especially on proposing frontends, backends and IT-driven business processes. Some of the work was not technical at all, such as creating legal documents for strategic decisions in IT and documenting success.
Besides working on strategy and giving advice, I am also used to managing a variety of digital projects.
