Website relaunch from WordPress for consulting firms in Düsseldorf

When a buyer asks ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google which firm in Düsseldorf advises on a problem, the answer comes from pages the assistant can read. I relaunch consulting sites from WordPress as fast websites whose pages say in plain text what you advise on, who does the work and how an engagement starts, and lead to a contact request or a call. Let's talk about your needs in a free 30-minute video call.

What I take care of for your consultancy

  • Consulting experience

For more than twenty years I have designed systems and questioned existing concepts, as an employee and as a consultant. The questions your clients ask decide which pages your new site gets.

  • A page per service

Each service gets its own page with your answer to the question a client would ask about it. An assistant asked about that topic finds a page it can quote.

  • Consultants with their topics

Clients buy advice from people. Each consultant gets a page with topics and background, marked up so that search engines and assistants know who the person is.

  • Access for AI crawlers

I check which AI crawlers your site lets in. Training crawlers can stay out if you wish; the search crawlers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude need access to quote you.

  • Requests from the answer

I work on conversion in five steps: research, hypothesis, priority, test and learning. A reader who arrives from an AI answer lands on the matching page, with one next step: a call or a message.

  • Meetings in Düsseldorf

I work from Frankfurt and come to Düsseldorf, Neuss, Essen or Duisburg for meetings. The relaunch runs remotely, in German or English.

How AI assistants find a consulting firm

An assistant answers from pages it can read and quote. A firm whose services sit in a PDF, in a slider or behind a script gets described from other sources, such as directories, or not at all.

Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode draw on pages that are indexed and eligible for a snippet in normal search, and Google names no extra requirements for them (Google Search Central, updated 2025-12-10). ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude run search crawlers of their own, and a site that keeps them out gives those assistants nothing to quote.

Consulting sites on WordPress often put the services on one long page and the people in a slider with a photo and a name. An assistant asked who advises on a specific topic then finds little it can quote.

What the relaunch changes

Each service gets a page whose first lines state the problem it solves and the clients it is for. Each consultant gets a page with topics and background. Cases follow as far as your clients allow you to name them.

The text is in the HTML when the page loads, and structured data states who runs the firm and which service a page offers. The target system depends on what else the site does. Service pages, consultant pages and articles become a static site in Astro; a client portal or a booking system runs on Symfony, Laravel or Node.js with a database.

This site is built the same way, and a hook checks new copy against a writing guide before it is saved. Details: AI agents under the same rules as humans.

Which AI crawler reads your site for which answer

Each AI company sends separate crawlers for search and for training, and your site can let one in and keep the other out. The file robots.txt at the root of your domain tells each crawler what it may read. Some security plugins and hosting setups block AI crawlers in one go, the search crawlers included.

Blocking the training crawlers is a decision each firm makes for itself. The search crawlers bring your pages into the answers your buyers read, so the relaunch checks that they get in.

Who I am

I am Michael Wutzke, an IT architect for data platforms in Frankfurt with more than twenty years in IT and media, as an employee and as a consultant. Among other roles I was CIO at the Frankfurt-based company Blocksize Capital, where part of the job was to describe complex matters in simple words. I teach at Claude Hacker House and build software with Claude and Codex. I moved this site off WordPress with Claude as coding agent, and I am interested in open-source AI models that a firm can run on its own servers. Details: Background.

How your relaunch runs

  1. Free video call

Thirty minutes on your firm, your services and the questions your clients ask before they call you.

  2. Assessment together

We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google about your firm and your topics, read the answers together and check which crawlers your current site lets in.

  3. Quote and order

You receive a quote for the relaunch. The work starts with your order.

  4. Page plan

Each service, each consultant and each case you may name gets a page, with the answer in its first lines. You supply the content from your practice.

  5. Build and forwarding

The new site runs at a test address. Each old address gets its new page or is permanently removed with your consent.

  6. Switch

The new site goes live and WordPress goes offline. I check the forwarding on the live domain.

  7. The same questions again

Some weeks after the switch we ask the assistants the same questions and compare the answers with the first round.

Questions companies ask

Do we need special files or markup for Google's AI answers?

Google says no. A page needs to be indexed and eligible for a snippet in normal search, and Google names no extra requirements for AI Overviews or AI Mode (Google, updated 2025-12-10). What helps is text a machine can read when the page loads, on a page that answers the question asked.

Can you guarantee that ChatGPT recommends us?

No one can. What an assistant answers is outside the control of any site owner. The relaunch makes sure the assistants can read your pages and that each page answers one question, and the answers before and after show what changed.

We already rank on Google. Is a relaunch worth it?

The assessment answers that. If your pages carry their text in the HTML and answer your clients' questions, a smaller change may be enough, and I tell you so.

Should we block AI crawlers?

Keeping the training crawlers out is your firm's call and does not change search. Keeping the search crawlers out takes your pages out of that assistant's answers. The crawler table on this page separates the two.

Which technologies do you use?

A consulting site with service pages, consultant pages and articles I build with Astro and deliver as static HTML. A client portal, a booking system or your own data run on Symfony or Laravel with a database, or on Next.js with Node.js for a React front end.

Who keeps the pages current?

Your team or its AI agent. A new service or a new consultant is a new page, which your agent drafts from your notes and publishes after a person approves it.

Do you come to Düsseldorf?

Yes, for meetings you want to hold in person, in Düsseldorf, Neuss, Essen or Duisburg. I live in Frankfurt, and the rest of the work runs remotely.
