A community platform on 40 servers

I designed and programmed a web community system and set up the servers it ran on. The system had hundreds of page templates, a 12 GB database and several terabytes of image data, and it ran on 40 servers.

The system and its servers

The concept and the code of the community system are mine. I set up 40 servers to balance the traffic, configured the load balancing and tuned the performance of the databases.

Data center work in Germany and the USA

In several data centers in Germany and in the USA I set up servers, switches, firewalls and backup systems. The work covered the installation, the cabling, the provisioning and the commissioning.

Linux since 2007

I have set up and supported Debian and Ubuntu servers since 2007 and still do. My later infrastructure work is in the cloud: AWS from 2018 on the page A digital insurance manager on AWS, and Azure and a second cloud on the page Node operations and a cloud migration with failover.

What a company gets from this

A company gets someone who knows a web system from the page template down to the cable in the rack. I know what a rented cloud machine does because I have installed such machines myself.
