Founding a global real estate database

In 2004 I founded a global real estate database in Germany, an information provider for major construction projects around the world. I built the company up until 2010 and then sold my shares. Today it belongs to a group that is listed on Nasdaq.

My roles from 2004 to 2010

I was developer, managing director, chief technology officer and chief innovation officer. In the first years I was responsible for product management and programmed the websites and the databases myself. As managing director I dealt with technical and contractual issues. As IT manager and innovation officer I coordinated the building of the web solutions.

Business plan, pitches and funding

I wrote the business plan and the financial plans of the company and pitched to investors and partners. KfW and the venture capital investor Neuhaus Partners then invested several million euros in the company, in the years between 2004 and 2010.

The sale of my shares in 2010

In 2010 I sold my shares in the company. Over ten years I took part in several due diligences, on the buyer’s side and on the seller’s side. My part was to examine and prepare the documents on the quality of the IT systems, the state of the teams and the health of the products.

What a company gets from this

A company gets someone who has been founder, developer and managing director of a data company, from the business plan to the sale of his shares. I know what an investor asks about a data product because I have answered those questions in pitches and in due diligences. Details: Entrepreneurial spirit. Since April 2026 I work on an information platform again: see AI agents under rules.
